More Awards

I was blessed with two awards this week.

The first one I was kind of embarrassed for. I was honored to receive this award from Melissa at Life With Two this week. The reason I was embarrassed is because the day I received it, I had written a downer of a post. I try not to do them too often andI thank Melissa for seeing past that and still bestowing it upon me.

I would like to pass it on Jennifer at Sons are a Heritage from the Lord, because she shared a beautiful picture of her new baby girl last week and it made me smile. It is fun to imagine her with pick in her house after having three boys. It is going to be fun to see what her blog name will be changed to.

I also received this award from Chris at Dad of Divas. Chris is an old friends that we don;t see very much an dI enjoy watching his two girls grow up through pictures on his blog.

I will pass this one on to Shannon at Gabi's World for making it through six weeks withoout her daughter and her wonderful job of conveying the journey with her blog.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Share The Love

Since I'm not good at tagging and awarding, I thought I would be better about this one. I received this award from Deb Mom of 3 Girls. It was created by Memoirs of A Mommy to honor the donor who saved her son Noah's life with a heart transplant. Her hopes are that in passing this award, we are creating more awareness of the importance of organ donation.

I would like to send this to many people who I try to visit often so that you all know how important each of you are and how much I enjoy your writing. So thank you to the following people for sharing the love.

Hip Mama Blog, A Bushel and a Peck, A Daisy a Day, A Madison Mom, Abba Stories, Adventures of Mommyhood, Big Binder, Bits and Pieces, Elijah's Adventures, From Talbots To Target, From the Cheap Seats, Gabi's World, I'm a Drama Mama, In the Life of a Child, Ladybug Crossing,. Awards

I received a couple of awards this week. It is amazing how special you feel just to be acknowledged. I am so honored. They were given to me by ladies whom I have come to look forward to reading every day.

Debbie over at Three Weddings has bestowed this lovely award upon me. I have really enjoyed conversing with her. She is such an inspiration in how she approaches her personal convictions in rallying for a fair world for her daughter.

I'd like to pass it on to Jennifer . I have enjoyed getting to know her better and look forward to her email updates. I also want to pass it on to Beth at Loves Flowers. She is new blogger and I hope others will go to her site to greet her and meet her adorable boys.

I also received TWO awards from award Michelle at In The Life Of A Child. She is another amazing woman who keeps a positive outlook on the struggles she has with her beautiful daughter. Her blog is fun to read because of the bond that is very evident between her, her hubby, and son and daughter.

I think this may the cutest award I have seen and I am honored to have received it.

She also shared this one with me

It is beautiful and I feel the exact same about her as well.

And Summer over at Summer's Nook also honored me a few days ago. I feel terribly guilty that I didn't acknowledge this one sooner.

I think every woman on my Reader deserves this one. You are all amazing women with wonderful stories that I am honored that you share with us each day.

My give-away win

I participated in my first bloggy give-away carnival a few weeks ago. I wasted WAY too much time entering tons of contests.

Now you must know....I NEVER win anything. I was the kid in school that never won Math Bingo or any drawings in my life. My husband, by contrast, won a stocking bigger than himself filled with toys and candy in his hometown when he was about eight. He is the lucky one.

So after spending, again, WAY too much time entering for all kinds of things and then checking a lot after the week was over, I was SHOCKED to find I'd actually won something.

Juliana at A Daisy A Day gave a away a gift card to Coldstone Creamery (yum) and I actually won! She emailed me for my info and I was so excited.

I really didn't think much of it until a few days later, when she responded to one of my blogs apologizing for not getting my card out sooner and linking back to this entry on her blog. It was an entire entry about how much stress my little gift card had caused her. It was quite an amusing post but I also felt bad that she had worked so hard.

So a few days ago, a small envelope arrived in the mail. Not only did it have the gift card, but also 5 handmade note cards that she had added to my package just for a little extra. Isn't that sweet? I was so honored that she thought to add a little something. Here is a picture of what I received.

I had to laugh that it arrived the day I professed my diet to begin on my blog.

So I figured, why not share the wealth. It was not going to be enough to take out my whole brood of boys so I continued to think. Deb over at Mom of 3 Girls and I were going out every Friday night for awhile just to get some "girl time" and we hadn't been out for awhile. Plus, I never would have started blogging had she not sparked the interest...a perfect reason to share the card with her.

So last night after kids went to bed, we went. I spent quite a bit of time online earlier in the day researching which items on the menu were lowest calorie and ate accordingly all day to plan for it. I think that's the thing about this weight control journey...it all depends on planning. It's when I don't plan and eat on a whim that it all goes out the window.

So we had a fun night out of ice cream, Target shopping for Easter presents (and a VERY rude cashier....I may expand on that another time...this is too happy of a post for that), and then back to my house for more bloggy tutoring and then we ended up talking to my husband in the living room until after midnight.

All in all, I'd say a good night out, all because of the Great Bloggy Giveaway Carnival. So maybe my luck has changed, maybe not. But I know that good luck was not just because of a yummy gift card, but also because it gave me yet another chance to connect with a friend.

The Romance Continues

So I picked up Noah from school today (amidst the worst roads I think I've driven all season) and he got in the car in a very excited mood. You may need to refer back to here in order to get the full essence of this little tale.
"Mommy, we're having a Valentines Party and I'm invited" (the school party) "Can I wear my fancy button shirt because Kylie is wearing a fancy dress"
This is a child who fights us on wearing "church clothes" every week.
"But Mommy, Kylie isn't going to wear flowers in her hair like girls do sometimes when they get fancy"
"Mommy, I put my cot next to Kylie's cot at quiet time today"
Alas!

I received an award from Melissa at Elijah's Adventures. Elijah is such a cutie and her blog is very festive in leading up to Valentine's Day.

I would like to pass this on to Lynnae at From under the Clutter. Her blogs always give me something to think about and her responses are always uplifting.

Have a safe and warm night if you're driving anywhere in the Midwest tonight.
