It is a confirmed Hydrangea.
And it has shown quite a bit of growth this week.

I'm so glad I didn't pull it. It may actually be big enough to hide the gas pipe coming out of the front of our house in the next ten years.

Hydrangeas are very pretty, especially after a frost when the tips turns colors.
